Puppet Wars
At Hoggworks, we wrote a post about taking the craft seriously. Loren Feldman got very offended.

Three things:
1) At least Loren has the balls to put his own face behind his words.
2) Puppets are fucking stupid, and the only reason people like Loren’s puppets is because it’s done so terribly. It’s called parody.
3) Your videos are way too long.

In reverse order:
3) Sorry you don’t like videos longer than a couple minutes; there are many who do.
2) You’re in the minority in thinking that puppets suck, but, hey, that’s a totally valid opinion. Also, parody is an easy thing to claim to avoid having to do the work to make something good.
1) Perhaps, but the point of this was puppetry skills, so responding via puppets seemed to make more sense. ALSO, if you’re going to talk balls, you might want to consider the fact that in response to this video, Loren has done his best to block me; he’s even gone so far as to remove most of my comments on his blog about this — which were all even-handed responses, incidentally.
So, yes, for Mr. Feldman, having balls apparently means swearing at someone for several minutes in a very abusive way, then running and hiding when said person responds.
It is, I think, the very epitome of bravery.

Mr. Hogg,
I applaud you for a calm and well thought out response to an angry, profanity laced, personal attack.
Humor is most effective when applied in just the right amount and with the right amount of acerbicness.
CT Moore’s assertian that Mr. Feldman’s video response to your original online posting is absurd and I agree with you that if you are a puppeteer, then the ultimate validation of your skill in the craft is to use your skills and speak thru the puppet’s mouth.
I enjoy your videos and have enjoyed watching your skills gain a polish. I am not intimidated by a five, ten or even a fifteen minute run time if the result is well made and has been crafted with the utmost of the artist’s skill, dedication and most importantly, heart.
Keep doing what you do. Please give us more Ask Palpatine, Rant Puppets, and DotBoom Seasons for as long as you can.
To all those out there that disagree with the above statement and its sentiments, I remind you that if you do not like it, don’t watch it. If you watch it and don’t like it, try something else next time – you may like that thing instead.
The bottom line I will leave off with is this – The world has more than one flavor of just about everything. Try more than one.
